Here is some information on the Nikon 10-pin connector used on Nikon's high-end cameras. I measured the voltages on my D2X camera and I also disassembled the Nikon MC-35 adapter. The pin numbers are copied from the internal printing of the MC-35 and they also match the EIA color coding of the wires.

I measured the voltage on the pins during four conditions: 1: The camera turned off, 2: Sleeping, 3: Awake, 4: Focusing. Different cameras might not behave the same so I cannot comment on what other models do. Also note that the pin functions are not from Nikon's official definitions. Please let me know additional information or corrections so I can update this section.
